This poem and comments that follow are from my father, Roy Reinhardt (R.H. Reinhardt). My daddy has been writing poetry and songs his entire life. He asked me if I would share this online, so I told him that I’d share this via my blog. Please do NOT copy this without giving my daddy credit and linking back to this blog. Also note that all of these thoughts are my daddy’s and no one else’s. The following comments and poem is based upon my daddy’s reflections on the Covid-19 virus and is an expression of honor toward those who are giving their lives and time to fight the Coronavirus.

Roy Reinhardt’s Comments: In my old age I have little to give to this great cause, to save humanity. And so I contribute what God blessed me to do.

Grandchildren, and great-grandchildren,
Bloodline of the great generation,
God has seen your kindness and compassion,
While many stay, the world prays,
You in harms way, to save another,
Heroic human respect, you have shown,
To save your sisters and brothers,
Perhaps fate has brought you to this moment in this time,
Yes your D-day has arrived,
Poets will phrase,
Songwriters will sing your praise,
You will be remembered in heaven,
and earth for eternity,
In our sorrows and fears,
We cannot see or hear,
The jubilance of heaven,
Empty mansions being filled
Old friend's greeting,
Long sought family meetings,
Your gloves and mask
Show your courageous determined task,
For God sees your compassion,
He is with you in your fight,
He is by your side,
For mankind will survive,
And live to multiply, making more souls,
To fill the mansions in God's heaven.
